A Research and Policy Analyst, Andrews Joojo Maxford has indicated that President John Dramani Mahama has restored Ghana’s welfare state and ensured greater social protection for the most vulnerable.
In a post, “Mr. Maxford said, “From boosting funding to the free SHS program and addressing its feeding challenges to absorbing fees for first-year tertiary students, to providing free sanitary pads to young girls to ensure adequate menstrual hygiene, to pledging to assent the employment of persons with disabilities bill, to instituting the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (MahamaCares) to provide critical financing to support kidney and cancer patients, it is abundantly clear that the Mahama Administration has restored Ghana’s welfare state through increased social protection for the most vulnerable in our society.”
He also lauded the Finance Minister, Dr. Ato Forson, for his delivering style on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, when he presented to Parliament the first budget of the second Mahama era.
Mr Maxford believed this budget would greatly enhance and ensure greater social protection in Ghana. This situation could be considered less desirable under the previous administration.
