“All public employees with a cumulative working years of 14 years 6 months and beyond must retire to take their social security benefits scheme and be replaced with unemployed graduates”.
Ghana has a ticking time bomb on its hands in the form of its unemployed graduates army. Specifically, matching public sector employment openings to tertiary educated graduates on an annual basis has witnessed a large number of university graduates being unemployed over the years, which is a national security threat at hand without anyone knowing the point of no return.
Much as authorities are aware of this pressure mounting crisis no one knows the kink point, hence it is suggested that all public employees with a cumulative working years of 14 years 6 months and beyond must be retired to take their social security benefits scheme and to be replaced with the unemployed graduates.
This way a vacancy of over 400,000 new hirings can be effected.
The government has the opportunity to adopt or adapt it and go radical in implementation to ease or stop the ticking time bomb of unemployed graduates from exploding.
