Chief Tanko, in a statement on his Facebook page, wrote, “My deepest sympathies are with the people of Akatsi who have been affected by the devastating windstorm disaster over the weekend.”

He described the calamity as an “unprecedented tragedy that has caused significant hardship, displacing hundreds of residents in my beloved Wuxor, Have, and Sremanu Electoral Area and leaving numerous families struggling to cope with its devastating impact.”

Chief Tanko also appealed to the President to take urgent action on the matter, joining the voices of many Ghanaians in calling for relief efforts. “In this time of sorrow, I join millions of the people of Akatsi South in calling on the government of H.E. President John Dramani Mahama to act swiftly, extending every possible support to the sufferers of this historic disaster,” he stated.

The disaster has left many residents in urgent need of assistance, and stakeholders are calling on the government and relief organizations to step in to provide much-needed aid.
