I have been deeply humbled by the overwhelming support and goodwill extended to me by party members, constituents, friends, and well-wishers both within and beyond the Ayawaso East Constituency following my victory in the just-ended primaries held on Saturday, 6th February 2026.
While concerns emerged in the aftermath of the elections, I fully cooperated with the committee established to look into the matter. I am therefore pleased that the process has reaffirmed my innocence and cleared me to contest as the NDC’s Parliamentary Candidate in the upcoming by-election scheduled for March 3rd.
I express my sincere gratitude to the committee and the leadership of the NDC for providing a fair platform for all parties to be heard. This outcome strengthens our collective commitment to justice, fairness, and unity within our great party.
To my dedicated supporters who stood firmly by me throughout this period, I remain profoundly grateful for your unwavering belief and encouragement. Your support has been a source of strength and inspiration.
I also commend the Electoral Commission, the Ghana Police Service, party officials, and all stakeholders who contributed to ensuring a peaceful and successful primary election.
To my fellow contestants, I extend my appreciation for the spirited and issue-based campaign we shared. The contest has strengthened our democracy within the party and brought out the best in all of us. I look forward to working closely with you as we unite to retain this seat for the NDC in the upcoming by-election.
I also wish to thank His Excellency John Dramani Mahama for the opportunity previously granted me to serve our nation as Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria.
Finally, I express my heartfelt appreciation to our chiefs, Imams, pastors, opinion leaders, and the good people of Ayawaso East. I reaffirm my commitment to fostering unity and working tirelessly to bring development and opportunities to every community within the constituency.
