The former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Kwabena Adjei Agyapong, has on Tuesday, 29th July 2025, officially declared his intentions to go for the highest office of the land by joining the upcoming NPP flagbearership race slated for January 2026.
He also used the occasion to launch his campaign office to officially kick start a nationwide tour for votes in all 276 Constituencies in coming days.
Addressing the Media in Accra, Kwabena Agyapong said, “today, as we unveil this beautiful edifice to house my campaign headquarters, a major setup in ensuring access and efficiency ahead of my nationwide engagement with all you members of our electoral college, I present myself to you, as the most credible Chief servant, offering”.
“A New Dawn! Yes Indeed! I come to you with a clear message: It is time for a New Dawn! A New Dawn where our Party rediscovers its soul! Where merit, decency, and service define who we are! A New Dawn where Ghana builds a fair economy that works for everyone!”, submitting that his administration will fix the sick salary regime for all workers in Ghana, reward productivity, and restore faith in public service! A New Dawn, where as an astute engineer, I lead the reengineering of our cities, building office and housing complexes closer to workplaces to save time and boost productivity!”
He said, his decision to run is not a dream but a plan, and by the Grace of God, he has the competency, the institutional memory, and the moral authority to lead the NPP into 2028 presidential elections.
According to him, leadership is not about slogans or entitlement or even the vain praises one would receive from the few around them, but it is about character, sacrifice, and heart and “all my life, through thick and thin, through some of the very painful moments that redefined the very framework of our democratic journey, I have lived for three things: TO UNDERSTAND PEOPLE, TO LOVE PEOPLE, and TO GENUINELY ENGINEER SUSTAINABLE SYSTEMS TO HELP PEOPLE”.
