The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament on Monday October 27, commenced its public hearing on the 2024 Auditor-General’s report.
Appearing before the Committee on the first day were officials from the Ministry of Justice and the Judicial Service, the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, the Ministry of Transport and its agencies, the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, and the Ministry of Trade and Agro-Business.
The Committee commended the Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) and his team for their innovative measures, including the introduction of licence renewal services at designated points for individuals unable to visit the main offices immediately.
The DVLA was also praised for ensuring the issuance of receipts and for commissioning six additional service centres, bringing the total number to 40 nationwide.
The Committee is expected to continue its public hearings on Tuesday, 28th October 2025, to examine the accounts of public boards, corporations, ministries, departments, and agencies.
