The Volta Regional Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called for calm among youth over what is called neglect when it comes to appointments, assuring that the region deserves a fair share of appointments and developmental opportunities in the new government.

Statement dated   Thursday, July 10, 2025, and signed by the regional Chairman, Mawutor Agbavitor, said, “The Functional Executive Committee has taken note of recent incidents involving the locking up of government offices in some parts of the region.

While we understand the frustrations and concerns being expressed, such actions cast an unfortunate shadow over the party’s image and risk undermining the very progress we have fought for”.

Mr. Agbavitor strongly appeals to all party members and supporters to refrain from taking matters into their own hands and learn to resolve “our grievances through dialogue and established party structures. Our collective reputation and unity are far more valuable than any temporary dissatisfaction. It is important to acknowledge that not everyone can be appointed to public office”.

“Nevertheless, the party remains committed to identifying various avenues to recognize and reward the hard work and loyalty of our grassroots members.

There are numerous ways to serve and benefit from the fruits of our collective victory.

Let us continue to work together in unity and patience, guided by the principles and values that have brought us this far”, the statement added.
