The Council of State, led by the Chairman, Rt. Hon. Edward Doe Adjaho, paid a solemn courtesy call on the family of the late Former First Lady, H.E Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, to express their deepest condolences and solidarity during this moment of national mourning.
As part of the visit, Members of the Council signed the book of condolences in her honour, reflecting on her distinguished service to Ghana and her lifelong dedication to women’s empowerment, education, and national development.

Dr. Gabriel Kwamigah Atokple, also known as Chief Tanko on his Facebook wall, said, “H.E. Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings was not only a Former First Lady but also a visionary leader, advocate, and patriot who championed the cause of women and children through her initiatives under the 31st December Women’s Movement”.
Her legacy of courage, compassion, and service continues to inspire generations.
The visit was marked by deep emotion and reflection, as members of the Council shared in the grief of the Rawlings family and offered words of comfort and support. The Council of State acknowledges her immense contributions to the advancement of Ghana’s democracy and social welfare.
