Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Yussif Issaka Jajah, has backed Ghana’s drive to develop a Halal-compliant tourism and hospitality sector, stressing its potential to attract not only Muslims but also non-Muslims due to its high quality and appeal.
Speaking during a meeting with a Malaysian delegation and the Bureau of Halal Certification Ghana (BHCG), the Deputy Minister called for the development of Halal-compliant hotels and food services to position Ghana as a leading Halal tourism destination in the region.
With the global Halal market valued at over $2 trillion, Ghana is set to tap into this opportunity through a phased rollout of Halal certification and tourism initiatives.
