The Ministry of Sports and Recreation, in partnership with the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), yesterday inaugurated the Sponsorship Committee for the 2025 President’s Cup during a brief ceremony held at the Ministry’s Conference Room.
This year’s President’s Cup is slated for Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium. The event is expected to play a pivotal role in revitalizing interest and boosting attendance in Ghana’s domestic football scene.
Speaking at the inauguration, Kofi Iddie Adams, Minister for Sports and Recreation, urged the committee to approach their task as part of a broader initiative to rejuvenate the passion for club football across the country. He highlighted how nations like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Rwanda are harnessing sports investments to stimulate economic growth, emphasizing that Ghana must similarly foster a commercially sustainable football industry.
The Minister also emphasized that the President’s Cup should serve as a platform to ignite fan enthusiasm, encourage community involvement, and fill stadiums not just for this match but to nurture a lasting football culture in Ghana.
