The Management of the State Insurance Company (SIC) Ltd., led by its Managing Director, Jmaes Agyenim Boateng and top-level managers, has donated ICT equipment valued at one hundred and one thousand Ghana cedis (GHS 101,000) to the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) on Thursday, 19 February 2026, at the University’s main campus in Ho.

The SIC delegation, comprising the Managing Director and other top executives, presented four HP printers, five Epson projectors and two 75-inch Samsung television sets to the University. The donation is aimed at enhancing lecture delivery, improving student engagement and strengthening academic administration.

The items were formally received by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Lydia Aziato, in the presence of the Registrar, Ms Yaa Amankwa Opuni and some other members of Management.

In her remarks, the Vice-Chancellor expressed profound appreciation for SIC’s sustained partnership and consistent support to the University. She commended the company for demonstrating continuous commitment to assisting UHAS in addressing pressing academic needs.

Professor Aziato noted that the University has experienced challenges relating to teaching space and instructional materials, which have affected enrolment and the broader teaching and learning environment. She described the donation as timely and transformative, explaining that the equipment would help resolve critical academic constraints and improve classroom effectiveness.

The Registrar also conveyed her heartfelt gratitude and assured the SIC team that the equipment would be deployed efficiently and maintained responsibly to achieve measurable academic outcomes.

On his part, Mr Agyenim Boateng, the Managing Director of SIC, expressed appreciation to the Vice Chancellor and Management for the longstanding collaboration between SIC and UHAS. He affirmed the company’s commitment to supporting institutions that contribute to national development, particularly in the health sector.

Mr. Boateng noted that SIC places high premium on reciprocity and responsible corporate citizenship, emphasising that the donation forms part of the company’s broader corporate social responsibility strategy. Mr Boateng also commended the Vice Chancellor for her exemplary leadership and the strategic direction of the University.

The donation stands as a testament to the enduring partnership between the two institutions and to SIC’s continued investment in strengthening higher education in Ghana.
