A team of inspectors at the Energy Commission has conducted a pre-operating licensing inspection of the Mega Warehouse Rooftop Solar PV Project — a record-breaking 16.82 MW single rooftop solar installation by Helios Solar Company Limited in Tema.

Spanning 95,754 m² (about 20 football fields), it’s the largest single rooftop solar plant on the African continent, projected to generate about 24.7 GWh of clean energy per year.

The inspection was led by Ing. Ampadu Acheampong, Acting Director of Inspection & Enforcement at the Energy Commission.
Once operational, the plant will supply clean power to industrial clients within the Tema Free Zone Enclave (TFZE).
