The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP) was hosted at the US Department of State by the Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Allison Hooker and Senior Bureau Official for African Affairs, Nick Checker.

Discussions centered on exploring new avenues for cooperation and enhancing existing partnerships in areas including the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) and the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
Deliberations were also held on preparations towards the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Honourable Ablakwa commended the United States for the introduction of enhanced visa processing arrangements at its Embassy in Accra which has reduced waiting time.
Both parties committed to further enhance the existing relations for mutual benefits.
