The Takoradi Office of the Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA) recently welcomed a 26-man delegation made up of students and faculty from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) for a deep dive into maritime surveillance and security.
The visit offered the delegation a firsthand look at how Ghana’s waters are safeguarded.

The Head of the Takoradi Office, Mr. Hudeen Daud Ahmed, and his technical team provided briefings on the surveillance scope and the regulatory landscape essential for a unified national security strategy.
The delegation also participated in a seminar at the Sekondi Naval Base exploring asymmetric risks and the urgent need for enhanced cooperation within the maritime security ecosystem.
The visiting delegation were also taken on a water experience tour aboard the GMA’s oil service vessel, Esther Afua Ocloo, allowing the participants to inspect specialised pollution-response equipment and review the coordination protocols required during maritime emergencies.
