The Public Accounts Committee of Parliament (PAC) has ordered the immediate interdiction and persecution of former Director of Procurement at the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), Frank Oliva Kpodo for his involvement in the missing Cars at GAF.
This order was given when the Committee sat on 31st March, 2026 to interrogate a Team from Ghana Armed Forces on infractions leveled against them at the ongoing public hearing on the Auditor-General’s Special Audit Report on Government outstanding claims and Commitments as at 31st December 2024, with three (3) MDAs appearing before the Committee.
Mr. Kpodo a former Director at GAF in charge of procurement told the Committee that he had held that position for seven years. But currently, he is at the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
Missing Cars Brohahah!
Mr. Kpodo told the Committee that GAF procured six (6) Suzuki Grand Vitara-SUV Vehicles at a cost of 4.8 Million Ghana Cedis. These Cars he said were to monitor 2024 General elections.
However, when the Cars arrived, GAF had no money pay for them. So he extended the contract to May 2024 to enable GAF raise enough funds to meet the cost of the Cars.
He intimated that at the end of the extended contract GAF had not be able to raise the said amount so he extended the contract once more to August. By August, the story was the same. Therefore, he advised his seniors and also had verbal discussions with them to dispose of the Cars.
Subsequently, the suppler of the Cars-Global Suppler Network made away with the Cars. As to the current whereabouts the Cars, Mr. Kpodo could not state specifically where the Cars were.
Shocked Members who could not phantom how a Civilian Car Suppler could have snatched Cars away from the Military probed further for the whereabouts of these Cars.
The former Director of Procurement at GAF who kept giving contradictory answers on the issues claimed that the Cars were rather at the custody of the Ministry of Defence.
At this juncture, the Majority Chief Whip, Rockson-Nelson Etsey Dafeamekpor who could not comprehend Kpodo’s contradictory stories asked that he should be interdicted at his news place-Ministry of Lands and natural Resouces.
As if that was not enough, Ranking Member on the committee, Samuel Atta Mills charged that he should be prosecuted by the Attorney-General.
GAF team to PAC was led by Deputy Defence Minister Brogya Gyamfi.
