The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has extended support towards healthcare delivery with a donation of GHS 81,940 to fund life-saving surgical procedures for two children at the Department of Surgery of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

An amount of GHS 74,002 was allocated for the surgery of Judith Wosemeh, while GHS 7,938 supported the treatment of Jewel Awadzi. The donation was presented by Mrs. Gloria Precious Ankomah, Head of the Special Intervention Programme, on behalf of GoldBod, and received by Dr. Patrick Bankah, Head of the Department of Surgery.
Dr. Bankah expressed appreciation for the timely intervention, noting that the support significantly reduces the financial burden on the families and enables focus on the children’s recovery. The families also conveyed their gratitude, describing the gesture as a critical relief.
This intervention reflects GoldBod’s commitment to supporting national development through targeted social impact initiatives, particularly in critical areas such as healthcare delivery and support for vulnerable patients.
