The Deputy Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, led a delegation from the Ministry to the Manhyia Palace to mark the 27th anniversary of the enstoolment of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The colourful event brought together government officials, traditional authorities, and dignitaries from across the world to honour the Asantehene’s remarkable leadership and legacy.

Engaging chiefs and queenmothers on the sidelines, Hon. Sowah reaffirmed Government’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with traditional and religious leaders to deepen governance and drive sustainable development.

She highlighted key initiatives, including the 24-hour model markets, orientation programmes for female MMDCEs, and increased allowances for paramount chiefs, queenmothers, and Judicial Committees.

She also urged traditional leaders to expedite the resolution of chieftaincy disputes and called on queenmothers to champion environmental health and sanitation in their communities.

Hon. Sowah congratulated Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for his exemplary leadership and continued support to Government.
