Kwame Governs Agbodza, Member of Parliament for Adaklu and Minister for Roads and Highways, has joined the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, on a two-day “Reset Agenda” working tour of the Savannah Region.
The Minister’s participation in the tour follows his recent visit to his constituency, Adaklu, where he assessed the impact of the mudslide disaster at Adaklu-Helekpe and extended support to affected residents.
As part of the Savannah Regional tour, President Mahama and the Roads and Highways Minister are inspecting key infrastructure and road development projects under the Government’s transformative “Big Push” agenda. Major projects on the itinerary include ongoing works on the Sawla–Wa Highway and the Bole–Tinga Road, both of which are expected to significantly improve connectivity, trade, and economic activity across northern Ghana.
Following the Savannah Region engagements, Hon. Agbodza will continue to the Northern Region with a team of technocrats from the Ministry of Roads and Highways, together with engineers from the Ghana Highways Authority and the Departments of Urban Roads and Feeder Roads, to inspect progress on several major road infrastructure projects in Tamale and surrounding areas.
Key projects scheduled for inspection include:
• Tamale 3rd Ring Road (Phase 1) – a major orbital bypass designed to ease congestion within the Tamale Central Business District by connecting key communities including Kanvilli, Jisonaayili, Tuunaayili, Fuo-Taha, Banvim, Junshegu, Dungu, and Kpalsi.
• Tamale–Yendi–Tatale Road Project – a 168.98 km road project aimed at boosting socio-economic development, facilitating agricultural transportation, and improving access within the Northern corridor.
• Tamale Outer Ring Road – a proposed orbital motorway network intended to divert heavy freight traffic and improve mobility around the Tamale Metropolis.
