Soft spoken, unassuming but hardworking Emmanuel Akorli of Peace FM, who also doubles as the Parliamentary Correspondent for the august Radio Station and the UTV came to Parliament last Wednesday June 3 2026 only to meet an envoy seriously looking for him.
Akorli’s crime?
His Class 1 Teacher, Mrs. Bernice Quartey who had apparently been monitoring Akorli from Peace FM visavi his Parliamentary reportage, had sent the envoy to track him in Parliament.
One of the early birds in the Parliamentary Press corps (PPC), Citizen as Akorli is affectionately called in the PPC, was accosted by his unexpected envoy, one Philip.
Mission;

Citizens’ Class 1 Teacher, Mrs Quartey had sought to see him. This is because Citizen Teacher has turned 80 and will be celebrated at the Baptist Church, Teasano, Accra on 27 June 2026.
Subsequently, she would love to see Akorli at that grand celebration.
Akorli indicated that while in Class 1 at Apenkwa Shaigonoh 3 Primary School, Accra in 1976, he happened to be the slowest writer. So when everybody had finished his assignment, Mrs. Quartey would come to him, to see to it that he finished his assignment as well.
He said the Teacher was so patient, caring and motherly to him in those tender ages. As such, he also owes her enormous gratitude. Akorli was quick to point out that through her teacher’s assistance he picked up from Class 2.
Accordingly, Emmanuel Akorli promises to be there for the 80th birthday anniversary of his wonderful Class 1 Teacher.
