Volta Region’s representative on the Council of State, Dr. Gabriel Tanko Kwamigah-Atokple, joined diplomats, government officials and guests at The Palms Convention Center, La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America.
The event, hosted by the Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Ghana, Mr. Rolf Olson, and Mrs. Laura Garcia Olson, marked 250 years since America’s declaration of independence in 1776.
Mr. Kwamigah-Atokple described the invitation as a “deep honour and humbling experience”, noting that the occasion provided space to reflect on the longstanding friendship and mutual respect between Ghana and the United States.
“I extend my sincere appreciation to the United States Embassy in Ghana for the thoughtful invitation and warm hospitality,” he said. “As your nation marks 250 years of independence, I wish you continued prosperity, peace, and progress in the years ahead. God Bless the USA.”
The ‘Freedom 250’ celebration brought together key stakeholders to reaffirm bilateral ties between Accra and Washington as both nations continue to deepen cooperation in trade, security and development.
