Government has advised employers to allow staff to work from home as heavy rains continue to flood roads and disrupt traffic across Greater Accra.
In an official employer notice, Government Spokesman Felix Kwakye Ofosu said the directive follows “sustained downpour and traffic disruptions” that have left many workers stranded and vehicles stuck.
“Given the sustained downpour and traffic disruptions, we advise employers to allow staff to work from home where possible,” he stated.
He stressed that public safety must take priority over daily work routines.
“Safety of life precedes work duties,” Felix added.
The advisory comes as areas including Kasoa Toll Booth, Circle, Adabraka, Pokuase Main Road, Abeka Junction and the entire Accra report severe flooding after rains that began yesterday.
NADMO and city authorities are monitoring the situation, with residents in low-lying areas urged to remain cautious.
