Lawyer Richard Nunekpeku, Deputy CEO of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), has reaffirmed GoldBod’s commitment to building a world-class gold value chain through local refining, jewellery manufacturing and responsible sourcing.
Speaking at the Ghana Chamber of Mines’ Mining for Development Forum, he disclosed that GoldBod is supplying locally licensed refineries with gold and supporting them to attain accreditation from the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) within the next three to five years.
He noted that GoldBod is also working with industry partners to strengthen responsible sourcing and traceability in line with international standards, while advancing Government’s vision of ending raw gold exports by 2030.
