In line with his commitment to youth empowerment and economic self-sufficiency, the Member of Parliament for Odododiodioo, Alfred Nii Kotey Ashie, has officially commenced the Employable Skills Development Program across the constituency.
Now entering its second day, the intensive 3-week capacity-building initiative brings together approximately 50 participants representing all 8 electoral wards of the Odododiodioo constituency.
Designed to equip locals with highly marketable, practical skill sets, the comprehensive curriculum covers critical technical disciplines, including:
– Forklift Operation
– Backhoe Operation
– Bio-Digester Construction & Maintenance
– Electric Fencing Installation
– Air Conditioning Servicing & Repair
– CCTV System Installation
– Satellite Dish Installation
‘Theory First, Practical Mastery to Follow’
The program’s first week is dedicated to rigorous theoretical instruction, providing trainees with an essential foundation in technical principles, safety protocols, equipment checks, and industry standards. Following this classroom phase, participants will transition directly into hands-on practical field training.
Upon completion, all successful participants will receive formal Certifications and Licenses, empowering them to enter the job market as certified technicians or launch their own entrepreneurial ventures.
“Investing in our people’s practical skills is the key to unlocking sustainable livelihoods for the youth of Odododiodioo,” noted project representatives during the training sessions.
This initiative forms part of the MP’s broader Capacity Building Program, aimed at tackling unemployment, boosting local trades, and driving sustainable community development from the ground up.
