Ghana is seeking Chile’s support for its re-election to the UN Human Rights Council. Ambassador Nii Amasah Namoale met Chile’s Ambassador in Brasília to highlight Ghana’s commitment to human rights, democracy, the rule of law and peaceful conflict resolution. The meeting also aimed to strengthen Ghana-Chile relations and multilateral cooperation.
During the courtesy call, Ambassador Namoale appealed for Chile’s support for Ghana’s bid, highlighting the country’s longstanding commitment to human rights, democratic governance, the rule of law and peaceful conflict resolution.
He stressed Ghana’s position that the Human Rights Council must remain a credible and effective platform for promoting universal human rights and fundamental freedoms.
The meeting also focused on strengthening Ghana-Chile relations and expanding cooperation within the multilateral system. Ambassador Namoale underscored Ghana’s determination to maintain a constructive voice in shaping international responses to emerging human-rights challenges.
Ghana’s campaign comes as the country seeks continued participation in the UN’s human-rights architecture, emphasizing principled diplomacy, respect for human dignity and multilateral cooperation as key pillars of its foreign policy.
