Professor Ransford Gyampo, CEO of The Ghana Shippers Authority has taken a swipe at the Minority in Parliament over their criticism of GoldBod’s finances.
According to Professor Gyampo, the Minority’s claim that GoldBod has made a loss is untenable when compared to past expenditure under the previous administration led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
In a post, he questioned the logic behind spending $58 million to dig a pit for the National Cathedral project where water now collects, describing it as no loss in the eyes of the critics.
“We spent $58 million to dig a hole into which water collects and that’s no loss.
We spent more than banks needed for bailout, to collapse them and that’s fine,” he stated.
Prof. Gyampo argued that GoldBod’s use of $1.7 billion to generate $10.8 billion in revenue cannot be described as a loss.
“GOLDBOD uses 1.7 billion to get 10.8 billion and that’s a loss? Let Ghana judge!” he added.
His comments come after the Minority alleged financial losses at GoldBod and called for accountability.
