The Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mahama Ayariga, has called for the comprehensive redevelopment of Zongo communities without displacing residents from their homes and communities.

Speaking at the Zongo Chiefs Conference at the Mikaddo Conference Centre, the Minister engaged Zongo Chiefs and key stakeholders on the Zongo Development Agenda, with discussions focusing on sanitation, housing, infrastructure, access routes and other challenges affecting Zongo communities.

Hon. Mahama Ayariga emphasised that sustainable redevelopment must be achieved through strong collaboration between Government, traditional authorities and community leaders, while preserving the cultural identity and social bonds of Zongo communities.

The discussions were anchored on four key pillars: Tradition | Dialogue | Development | Unity.
The Ministry remains committed to working with Zongo Chiefs and stakeholders to advance inclusive development and create better living conditions for communities across Ghana.
