Scores of mourners, sympathisers and friends from Parliament last Saturday, October 3, 2026, trooped to Berekuso in the Eastern Region to mourn with Madam Jesica Mensah, Director of Library, on the occasion of the burial and final funeral rites of her late father, Theophilus Lartey Mensah.
With such a huge representation from all over, Parliament. virtually walked to Berekuso to sympathise with the affable, approachable and hospitable Director of Library of the august House. Jessie, as she is affectionately called in Parliament circles. Comprising her two Deputy Directors, Nana Tuwohofo, Mr. Laryea and immediate past Director Mad. Gloria, staff from Library and its affiliate offices, mail room, printing room and Hansard Department, the Ebenezer Congregation Presbyterian Church was filled to capacity with mourners as early as 9:00am, with overflows outside as well as the funeral grounds nearby.

Due to the huge crowd, the funeral grounds and its environs were crowded with vehicles amidst the milling crowd, thereby making passage and movement quite hard.
Subsequently, the sad occasion rather sent the town agog, bustling with economic and socialization activities, as hugging and exchange of pleasantries abound on the occasion.

Besides the mourning and tears-shedding aspects of the occasion, there was much to eat and drink as Jessie Sibling and the family catered so well for the milling mourners.
Appreciation

Meanwhile, the Director of Library, Parliament, and family have expressed profound appreciation to all and sundry who in diverse ways mourned with them during their trying moments.
