His Royal Majesty, Torgbiga Adama III, the Makorsor of the Somè Traditional Area and President of the Somè Traditional Council in the Ketu South Municipality, is set to hold a crucial press conference on Monday, March 3, 2025, regarding the rampant sea erosion affecting parts of the municipality.
This urgent engagement aims to draw national attention to the devastating and relentless tidal wave disaster that has wreaked havoc on Agavedzi and its surrounding communities.
The destructive force of the tidal waves a few days ago has displaced hundreds of families, destroyed homes, submerged livelihoods, and left thousands of residents stranded on their land.
This catastrophe has plunged affected communities into despair and extreme vulnerability, with no immediate relief in sight.

In a statement ahead of the media engagement, His Royal Majesty emphasized the need for urgent government intervention, calling on authorities to swiftly provide relief, resettlement, and long-term measures to mitigate further destruction and suffering.
According to the Council, “The people of Agavedzi cannot continue to live at the mercy of the raging sea while their cries go unheard. The time for action is now!”
They, therefore, invite the media to cover this significant press briefing as they “demand a decisive and immediate response to this pressing humanitarian crisis.”
