Sam Pee Yalley, the former Ghanaian High Commissioner to India and President of the NDC Professionals Forum, has sadly passed away. While the precise circumstances surrounding his untimely death remain unclear, reports from Channel One News reveal that he passed on Sunday at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. His passing has stirred a wave of tributes from prominent members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), including Parliament Speaker Alban Bagbin, who expressed his condolences via social media. “It is with great sorrow that I learned of the death of my dear friend and brother, Ambassador Sam Pee Yalley, an exemplary statesman and a revered member of our party, the National Democratic Congress,” Bagbin wrote. He acknowledged Yalley’s dedication to promoting professionalism in politics and highlighted his significant role within the NDC’s Professionals Forum. He extended heartfelt condolences to those grieving his loss, especially Yalley’s immediate family. A distinguished lawyer and public servant, Ambassador Yalley previously held the role of Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority before being appointed as Ghana’s Ambassador to India by President John Mahama in 2014. In addition to his diplomatic and legal accomplishments, Sam Pee Yalley was celebrated for his advocacy, particularly in promoting female leadership in Ghana.
