The newly confirmed District Chief Executive Officer for Ho West has promised to provide quality leadership in harnessing the District’s resources, both human and natural, towards the fulfillment of the NDC’s 2024 social contract with the citizenry.

He planned to leverage every potential in the District submitting that Ghana’s reset agenda cannot be underestimated, hence his resolve to tap into the party’s manifesto as the bedrock of his overall vision to create a new development paradigm for the people.

Sharing his short-term vision statement with Fmnewsonline, Profer Francis Dusey pledged to focus on Agriculture to create sustainable jobs as outlined in the NDC’s manifesto.

He said, “Ho West District remains an agrarian society largely and this vision will be vigorously pursued with the ultimate aim to convert the District into the real food basket for the Region.

”Ho West District produces the largest amount of coffee in the country but marketing the produce remains a huge challenge, however with a concerted governmental
intervention, the situation would change not only for coffee but cocoa and other food crops that
are grown in the District”, he mentioned.

Profer Francis Dusey’s medium-term vision is to lead an aggressive revamping of the District’s tourism potential as he envisioned driving it to a state where it will receive not only national attention but become a favorite global destination for international tourists who visit Ghana.

To him, “tourism potentials of the District abound and a deliberate governmental focus on developing same would not only stimulate economic activity in the District but the Volta Region at large thereby contributing to the nation’s revenue mobilization efforts.

Mr. Dusey again proposed to lead the District into becoming an ICT hub in the Region where the youth, in particular, will be assisted through the “one million coders program” as outlined in the party’s manifesto as part of his long-term vision.

”The world is transitioning from the fourth into the fifth industrial revolution powered by Artificial Intelligence and the development of algorithms that are capable of precise predictions.

These three low-hanging fruits will pivot my vision for the district when given the nod to lead the District”, he added.
