The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams received a delegation from the Ghana Swimming Association (GSA) in his office today Thursday, 10th April, 2025 to discuss among others the progress of the sport.

The delegation was led by Mrs. Delphina Quaye, the President of the Ghana Swimming Association who had come with some of the executives of the Association to pay a courtesy call on the Minister following his assumption of office as Minister for Sports and Recreation.

In his welcome remarks, Hon. Kofi Adams commended the leadership of the Association for the role they continue to play to promote and develop the sport and assured them of the full support of the Ministry to further grow the sport.

He indicated that, Ghana was blessed to have a world class aquatic centre built at Borteyman noting that the facility must be well maintained to expand its lifespan and for future generations to benefit from it.

The Minister mentioned the various options available to help maintain the facility and to get optimum use of it as he encouraged the executives of the Association to scale up the organization of competitions at the facility which would help to keep it in good shape.

“The swimming Association is ever ready to work with you to succeed as a new sports and recreation minister’’ she stated.

The executives that accompanied her include, Mr. Charles w. Mensah, Adolf A.
