President Mahama cancels 701 Passports over non-compliance

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that, President Mahama has cancels 701 Passports over non-compliance.

Following the failure/refusal of 341 Diplomatic Passport holders and 360 Service Passport holders to comply with President Mahama’s directive to return those passports, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa have on 6th April, 2025 cancelled all those passports.

These passports which were issued by the former government are now on a “Stop-List” at all border points and embassies and shall be confiscated if the holders attempt to use same.

The consistent failure/refusal of the holders of these passports to comply with President Mahama’s directive since January has left us with no other choice.

Meanwhile, “I duly commend the other 407 Diplomatic Passport holders and 403 Service Passport holders who complied and returned the passports”, the Minister on Facebook post added..
