In a move to foster teamwork, clarity of purpose, and elevate the image of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, the Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Yusif Sulemana, on Monday, May 5, 2025, chaired a meeting with the heads and deputies of the communication units of the various agencies under the Ministry.

The meeting, held at the Ministry, aimed to provide a platform for the Deputy Minister and the newly appointed Chief Director to engage the communication unit leads on safeguarding the Ministry’s reputation through a collaborative, streamlined, and cohesive communication strategy.

In his welcome remarks, Innocent Haligah, acting Chief Director of the Ministry, highlighted the urgent need for all agencies to develop a documented communication strategy to address gaps in the communication system, enhance the reputation of both the agencies and the Ministry, and effectively propagate its policies and programs to the public.

Addressing the staff, the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Alhaji Sulemana Yusif, underscored the necessity for enhanced cohesion and unity among them to ensure effective communication, not only within their respective agencies but across the entire Ministry.

He advocated for the establishment of clear structures within the communication units to define roles, prevent conflicts, and mitigate potentially divisive issues.

“The call today is that we form a stronger team and create a positive image for our Ministry, as it is one of the Ministries that interacts with the public daily. Let’s be orderly, and let each of us understand our roles,” he urged.

Hon. Yusif Sulemana reminded the staff of their duty to serve the nation, urging them to avoid partisan politics in their activities and to embrace the vision and direction of the government. He emphasized that the Ministry, under the leadership of Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, is pursuing a transformative agenda to revitalize the sector, and all staff must align with this reset initiative.

“We have one country we are supposed to serve—one Ghana. We can’t all belong to one political party, but we all belong to one nation, Ghana,” he stressed. He called for a synchronized and strategic communication policy to ensure seamless coordination and effective public relations activities across all agencies under the Ministry.

Additionally, he encouraged staff to build camaraderie and consistently share knowledge and expertise to prevent any agency from operating in isolation, noting that collaboration is key to achieving their objectives and organizational goals.

Director of Communications, Mawusi Mawuenyefia, reinforced the Deputy Minister’s message, urging the PR teams to prioritize teamwork and a unified approach in their communications. “Our strength lies in our ability to work together—sharing insights, supporting each other’s initiatives, and presenting a cohesive narrative to the public. Let’s leverage our collective expertise to amplify the Ministry’s impact,” she added.
