This agreement he said should help strengthen epidemic intelligence and enhance health security in Ghana and the sub-region.

At a press briefing after Dr Jean Kaseya met with President Mahama, Minister for Health Kwabena Mintah Akandoh (MP) stated that Ghana has learnt its lessons and is adequately preparing for any future pandemic.

He thanked the Africa CDC for its support.

The Director General of the African Centre for Disease Control (CDC), Dr. Jean Kaseya, emphasised the necessity for African countries to prepare for a future without substantial donor funding.
