The Board is chaired by Mr. Fredrick Ammissah and includes Mr. Mohammed Abdul-Salam, Director-General of the NLA; Mr. Edward Abrowkwah, Director of the Revenue Policy Division at the Ministry of Finance; Ms. Doreen Panyin Annan from the Ministry of the Interior; Ms. Helen Akpene Awo Ziwu, Solicitor General representing the Office of the Attorney-General; Mr. Gerald Baffour Awuah Bonsu, the President’s nominee; and Hon. Faustina Elipklim Akurugu, Member of Parliament.

The inauguration was conducted on behalf of the Minister for Finance, Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson (MP), by the Deputy Minister for Finance, Hon Thomas Nyarko Ampem(MP).

In his remarks following the administration of the Oath of Office and Secrecy, Hon. Ampem urged the Board to reposition the NLA as a dynamic, innovative, and efficient institution capable of making a significant contribution to national revenue. He encouraged the members to bring fresh ideas and strong leadership to transform the Authority, emphasizing that the NLA should not only serve as a revenue-generating agency but also play a key role in funding vital national development projects.

“The Authority must focus on modernizing its operations, enhancing digital services, and tackling illegal lottery activities head-on,” he stated.

In response, Board Chair Mr. Fredrick Amissah expressed his appreciation to the President and the Finance Minister for the opportunity to serve.

“We are honored to take on this responsibility,” he said, adding that, “Our goal is to ensure that the NLA operates in the best interests of the people of Ghana, through transparency, accountability, and innovation.”

The new Board has identified key priorities, including increasing revenue from both traditional and digital lottery platforms, intensifying efforts to eliminate illegal gaming operations, and upgrading the Authority’s systems to make lottery participation safer and more accessible for all Ghanaians.

With this renewed leadership and strategic direction, the NLA is poised to meet its objectives and continue playing a vital role in supporting Ghana’s economic growth and development.
