Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, participated in a ceremonial tree planting exercise at the 11th Nevsky International Ecological Congress in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Held at the historic Tauride Garden, the event symbolized global solidarity in environmental conservation.

Speaker Bagbin planted Tree No. 5—an ashberry tree, known for its ecological significance in the northern hemisphere. The ashberry provides nourishment for humans and wildlife, supports biodiversity, and contributes to soil health.

This act underscores Ghana’s commitment to sustainable environmental practices and the global fight against climate change.
