This move, he said, aims to address longstanding quality and pricing concerns in the telecommunications sector.

Hon. Samuel Nartey George was speaking at a press conference held today at the Ministry’s Conference Room

*Key Changes:*

– *Airtel Tigo Ghana*: 10% increase in all data bundles, with the GHC400 bundle rising from 195GB to 236GB.

– *Telecel Ghana*: 10% increase in all data bundles, with the GHC400 bundle increasing from 190GB to 250GB.

– *MTN Ghana*: 15% increase in all data bundles, with the restoration of the GHC399 Social Media bundle offering 214GB, replacing the GH350 Flexi bundle that offered 92GB.

*Additional Measures:*

– *Investment in Networks*: The three major telcos have pledged to collectively invest approximately $150 million in their networks by the end of 2025 to enhance network quality.

– *Quality of Service Assessment*: The National Communications Authority (NCA) will conduct a rigorous quality of service assessment in the final quarter of 2025, with defaulting operators facing sanctions.

– *Billing Integrity Tests*: The NCA will conduct quarterly billing integrity tests to ensure accurate billing practices.

*Future Expectations:*

– *Tax Rationalization*: Further price drops are expected when the Finance Ministry takes action on tax handles in the sector.

– *Telecom Tariff*: The Ministry is pursuing a telecom tariff that could lead to additional price reductions.

In attendance were the CEOs of the Telcos, Chief Director and Directors of the Ministry as well as Agency Heads.
