In his inaugural speech, Sebastian Deh acknowledged the fact that the inauguration of the Council marks a significant part in Ghana’s TVET reforms and demonstrates the NDC government’s commitment to developing a skilled workforce that meets the demands of the rapidly evolving economy, whose cutting edge at this particular time is the 24 Economic Policy championed by the President.

To achieve this, Mr. Deh submitted the need to focus on the core functions of The Council, at the heart of which is building a competent professional workforce.

Reiterating the point on behalf of his colleagues, he said, “our mandate as amplified by the Hon Minister is clear: to provide strategic direction, oversight, and guidance to ensure that the Ghana TVET Service delivers high-quality technical and vocational education that aligns with industry needs and national development goals”.

He, however, expressed gratitude to the Minister for Education and the President for entrusting him with the responsibility, as he again promised to engage with stakeholders in the education sector to drive innovation to position TVET as a vital component of Ghana’s education system.
