Ghana Teams shine at 2025 Robofest World Championship in Michigan, USA

Ghanaian robotics teams, trained under the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR‑INSTI), Mikrobot Academy, KNUST’s College of Engineering Innovation Centre, and supported by RAIL at KNUST and the Ghana Robotics Academy Foundation, excelled at the 2025 Robofest World Championship in Michigan, USA.

Ghana fielded seven teams competing in the Unknown Mission Challenge (UMC), Game, Bottle Sumo, and Robo Parade.

In the junior category, Mikrobot’s “Prime Coders” secured 2nd place in UMC, while Team Neo‑Nexus earned a Special Achievement Award in the Game category for their groundbreaking innovation and perseverance.

In the senior division, Our Lady of Grace SHS claimed 3rd in Game and 4th in Bottle Sumo. Apam SHS took 2nd in the Bottle Sumo time trial, and Right to Dream Academy received a Special Achievement Award.

These accomplishments achieved against a global field elevate Ghana’s profile in tech innovation and inspire youth nationwide toward STEM.

Robofest 2025 brought together approximately 600 students from nearly 100 teams, with over 700 participants from 22 countries.

The Team presented their Trophies to the Minister of Environment, Science and Technology in Accra on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
