The Minister tasked the council to ensure relevant, quality education for the Bono and Ahafo regions. He also announced a partnership between the Ministry and SIC to build student hostels under a CSR initiative. UENR will benefit from a GH₵10 million seed fund to boost infrastructure and academic capacity.

Bolgatanga Technical University (BTU)

Recognized for its role in agricultural innovation, Hon. Iddrisu encouraged the university to promote sustainable farming practices that benefit the wider community. The institution will receive part of a US$5 million Italian grant aimed at enhancing TVET across Ghana.

Koforidua Technical University- (KTU)

With Ghana’s future anchored on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education, the KTU has been urged to deepen its focus on STEM programs to drive industrial innovation. KTU is also a beneficiary of the Italian government’s US$5 million grant to modernize technical education.

University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD) -Somanya.

Positioned as a green university, Hon. Iddrisu charged the UESD to take the lead on environmental research and sustainable development. With global momentum around climate action, UESD is expected to become Ghana’s centre of excellence in environmental management. It also receives GH₵10 million in seed funding to scale its mission.

These efforts form part of the government’s broader commitment to expanding access, improving infrastructure, and aligning higher education with national development goals.
