The Trade Minister, Hon. Ofosu-Adjare acknowledged the longstanding operational and infrastructural challenges that have hindered the effective functioning of the Trade Fair Company. She, however, assured the new board of the government’s full commitment to supporting efforts aimed at revitalizing the institution.

“The revamping of the Ghana Trade Fair Company is not just a matter of restoring infrastructure. It is about reclaiming the Trade Fair grounds as a symbol of national pride and a strategic center for business exchange, exhibition, and economic engagement,” the Minister stated.

She charged the new board to work diligently towards reviving Ghana’s trade fair culture by attracting both local and international exhibitions. According to her, this is critical for positioning Ghana as a hub for trade promotion in the West African sub-region.

In his acceptance remarks, the newly appointed Chairman of the GTFCL Board, Mr. Kwame Owusu Sekyere, expressed appreciation to the government for the confidence reposed in him and his colleagues. He pledged the board’s commitment to delivering on its mandate by restoring the company’s relevance and functionality.

“We are fully aware of the task ahead, and we are determined to transform the Trade Fair Company into a vibrant platform that contributes meaningfully to trade facilitation and investment promotion,” He said.

The inauguration forms part of the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry’s broader efforts to reposition key trade institutions in line with national development priorities. Under the leadership of Hon. Ofosu-Adjare, the Ministry is focusing on strengthening institutional governance, revamping strategic infrastructure, and advancing export-led growth.

Members of the newly inaugurated GTFCL Board include:

  • Mr. Kwame Owusu Sekyere – Chairman
  • Mr. Gershon Agbledzorwu
  • Mr. Evans Zoya Kpamma
  • Mr. Kwame Oppong Ntim
  • Mr. Ayisu Francis
  • Mr. Samuel Agbede
  • Mr. Torto Obodai Nabi Adja
  • Nii Adjei Koofeh IV
  • Mr. Yakubu Musah
  • Nana Yaa Oforiwaa Amanfo

The board is expected to provide visionary leadership to reposition the Ghana Trade Fair Company as a key player in Ghana’s trade and investment landscape.
