In a move to enhance discipline, passenger safety, and efficient transport operations in the capital, the Ketu North Assembly has issued a strong directive to commercial car operators in Dzodze, banning them from loading passengers by the roadside

As of immediately, drivers are prohibited from loading passengers by the roadside and are instead required to operate strictly from designated lorry stations.

The decision, which was reached after careful deliberations, aims to promote a more organized and safe transportation system within Dzodze and its environs.

Key highlights of the directive in a communique signed and released by the MCE for the area, … have it that Drivers are no longer allowed to load passengers by the roadside, and all commercial vehicles must operate from designated lorry stations.

The directive aims to reduce the risk of accidents and promote a safer transportation system and the move is expected to minimize traffic congestion and improve the overall efficiency of transport operations in Dzodze.

Below is the full communique:

COMMUNIQUÉ ON ROAD TRANSPORT OPERATIONS IN DZODZE

I met with the Dzodze Drivers’ Union and reached a firm resolution regarding vehicular loading within our municipality. The meeting, held in the spirit of orderliness and improved transport management, sought to address challenges associated with roadside loading and its negative impact on traffic flow, safety, and the overall image of our municipality.

After careful deliberations, we unanimously agreed that, with immediate effect, no driver shall load passengers by the roadside. All drivers are henceforth required to operate strictly from the designated lorry stations. This directive is aimed at ensuring discipline, improving passenger safety, and promoting efficient transport operations within Dzodze and its environs.

The Municipal Assembly, under my leadership and in collaboration with the Drivers’ Union and the Police will work hand in hand to enforce this directive. I therefore urge all drivers and stakeholders to adhere strictly to this resolution. I count on the cooperation of the public and transport operators in ensuring that this policy is implemented successfully for the benefit of all.

Thank you
