As part of activities marking the celebration of youth month, the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment organized a free medical screening and blood donation exercise at the forecourt of the Mantse Agbonaa Football Park, an initiative which focused on providing health services to young persons between the ages of 18 and 40 years to enhance the health status of the youth living around Jamestown and its environs.
The Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, Hon. George Opare Addo graced the occasion and reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to prioritizing the health and well-being of the youth across the country.
The outreach emphasized preventive healthcare which included screenings for cervical cancer, breast cancer, mental health, and other key health concerns with a blood donation exercise in full swing to help stock the national blood bank.
The Ministry, extends its sincere appreciation to all partners for their invaluable support especially the Ghana Health Service, the local Assembly and community leaders whose contributions were instrumental to the success of event.
