The Fisheries College in Anomabo, which stalled in previous years due to financial challenges and contractor constraints, has received renewed government commitment under His Excellency President John Mahama. The President has prioritized completing critical infrastructure and ensuring the operationalization of the College, with the first intake of students expected by the first quarter of 2026.

Phase I of the project includes a two-storey classroom block, a two-storey administration block, a laboratory block, hostel facilities, and residential accommodation for staff, all of which are progressing steadily.

The Ministerial Committee has been tasked with developing an academic curriculum that links education with the practical needs of the fisheries and aquaculture sector, while aligning with international best practices.

The curriculum will also meet the standards of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission and the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) framework.
