Hon. Apaak encouraged them to focus on Namibia’s unique context as they work towards reforming their Teaching Council into an autonomous institution.

He highlighted the importance of proper documentation and reminded them to be mindful of the potential challenges and financial implications.

The Chairperson and Commissioner of the Teaching Service Committee, Habate Doseses commended the Ministry for its robust policies and structured approach to the regulatory bodies. She emphasized that Ghana is one of two African countries that has been benchmarked and expressed Namibia’s readiness to be guided to replicate same. She extoled the institution of the Best Teacher Prize Award as motivation to incentive teachers.

Later in the day, the Deputy Minister visited the school placement resolution centre to oversee the ongoing support being offered to parents and students. He encouraged parents and Guardians to remain calm during this placement period as the Ministry strives to ensure all qualified students are placed.

He further admonished stakeholders to be patient as students are expected to report to school on the 18th of October.

The Resolution Centre has been set up to assist parents and guardians who have challenges with the placement of their wards into Senior High Schools. It serves as a one-stop point for resolving concerns, offering guidance on the self-placement system, and ensuring that every qualified candidate secures a place in senior school.
