Dr. Gabriel Kwamigah Atokple, aka Chief Tanko, the Volta Regional Representative on the Council of State, expressed warm hospitality and solidarity during the recent visit of Presiding Members from across the region, held in conjunction with the 2025 National Conference of Presiding Members, Ghana at the Institute of Local Government.

The Council of State member, serving as a key figure in the region’s development efforts, welcomed the Presiding Members with cordial exchanges and mutual appreciation.

The visiting officials conveyed their heartfelt gratitude for the member’s dedicated service to the Volta Region, highlighting the importance of regional unity and shared commitment toward development initiatives.

In a statement, Dr. Atokple emphasized the humility and significance of the visit, noting, “Their decision to make time for this meeting before returning to their respective districts and municipalities is truly humbling and demonstrates our collective dedication to advancing the region.”

 

Expressing appreciation for their confidence, the Council Member affirmed ongoing commitment to representing the interests of the Volta Region. They welcomed the Presiding Members’ support for a younger Member’s appointment to the Council of State, describing it as a forward-thinking move that ensures continuity in leadership.

 

Discussions also covered key regional issues, including land litigation challenges and the pursuit of equitable development across districts. The Council Member reiterated their unwavering dedication to fostering opportunities that will lead to tangible progress, emphasizing an open-door approach to collaboration and community growth.

 

As the region continues to pursue development and prosperity, the Council Member assured all stakeholders of their steadfast support and collective effort toward a brighter future for the Volta Region.
