The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has said about 20 more labour mobility agreements with other countries are currently under negotiations as he welcomed the Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell of Grenada.
According to him, they are also holding strategic talks to establish the first-ever direct flight between Africa and the Caribbean.
“As African Union Champion for Reparations, President Mahama shall continue to bridge the artificial African-Caribbean divide caused by the trans-Atlantic slave trade”.
Speaking on some of the fascinating anecdotes, the Minister said, Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell announced that his DNA test proved he has Ghanaian ancestry, “it is now confirmed that 75% of the people of Grenada have ancestral links to Ghana”.
Mr. Ablakwa mentions that both ruling parties in Ghana and Grenada are known as the National Democratic Congress (ND, C) and “the two NDCs secure two-thirds majorities in the last round of parliamentary elections.
Both the NDC in Ghana and the NDC in Grenada returned to power with landslide victories after losing two previous elections.
