The Volta Regional Representative on the Council of State, Dr. Gabriel Kwamigah Atokple, also known as Chief Tanko has observed that the recently held Volta Economic Forum at Reddinton Beach Resort in Whuti has set a new tone for regional development initiatives, emphasizing that the gathering is not just a “talk-shop” but a platform for concrete action.
Addressing investors, government officials, and local stakeholders, Dr. Atokple expressed his firm conviction that the forum aims to move beyond mere discussions. “This is about being action-oriented and deliberate in translating ideas into tangible results that will uplift the lives of our people,” he stated.
The forum focused on exploring the vast economic potentials of the Volta Region, with deliberations centering on harnessing natural resources, talents, and the region’s strategic position to drive sustainable development.
Participants discussed innovative ways to create opportunities for the youth, boost local industries, and attract investments that can transform the region’s economic landscape.

Following the forum, Dr. Atokple and his family, alongside Emmanuel Ketaman Evortepe, President of the Duamenefa Foundation and Faama FM, paid a visit to His Royal Majesty Togbui Sri III, Overlord of Anlo Dukor. The visit coincided with preparations for the prestigious Hogbetsotso Grand Durbar, symbolizing unity, pride in cultural heritage, and anticipation for future collaborations.
The event underscores a shared commitment among regional leaders, investors, and traditional authorities to turn the region’s economic potential into tangible development outcomes. As Dr. Atokple highlighted, the focus now shifts to implementation—transforming dialogue into action to benefit the people of Volta Region and beyond.
