Samuel Koku Anyidoho has highly commended President John Dramani Mahama’s support for the 96th Anniversary Breakfast Meeting of the Christian Council of Ghana (CCG), through the office of the Chief of Staff.

Koku Anyidoho, who is the Chairman of the Planning Committee of CCG’s 96th Anniversary Committee, expressed profound gratefulness to the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, who was represented by his Deputy, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, as the Guest of Honour.

“I am very grateful to Hon Julius Debrah for granting us audience at the Flagstaff House and personally engaging the Planning Committee and also assuring us of the full support of the President and presidency,” Mr. Anyidoho said.

“The presence of my big sister Nana Oye at today’s event amplifies the strong synergy between the church and state, and as Chairman of the Planning Committee, we are very pleased with this partnership” Koku said.

“My brother Julius Debrah gave us his word and has kept to it – a mark of honour”.

In her speech, Nana Oye commended CCG for hitting almost 100 years and gave assurances of President Mahama’s commitment to partnering deeply with the Church at all times to build a just society.

“Continue to light the path and hold the torch for Ghana.  His Excellency President Mahama is in the process of setting up the Advisory Council he pledged and surely the Church will be involved” Nana Oye said.

Nana Oye asked CCG to hold an Anniversary Lecture and tell its 96 year history.  “You have a glorious story to tell,” she said.

The event was held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the Ridge Church, Accra, and was chaired by Dr. Rosalind Joyce Aryee, Executive Director of the Salt and Light Ministries.

The Guest Speaker was Mr. Samuel Amo Tobbin, Group CEO of Tobinco Pharmaceuticals who shared how the “God-factor” has been the bedrock of the growth of his business.

Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, MP, Assin South, represented in his own capacity and also represented former Vice President Dr. Mahammoud Bawumia, who called for the church to continue to pray for “President Mahama to succeed”.

Mr. Anyidoho is also chairman of the Planning Committee of the first-ever Ecumenical Convention to be held between November 14 -16, 2025, as a build-up to CCG’s centenary celebration in 2029.
