Asuogyaman MP who also doubles as the Deputy Finance Minister, Thomas Nyarko Ampem together together with DCE for the Area Godwin Bobobee to commissioned the new police station at Asikuma over the weekend.
This is a massive stride forward for security, bringing a vital police presence to Asikuma and all the surrounding communities that have long been underserved.
According to the
MP, “this project is very close to my heart, as the foundation was laid during my time as DCE.

When the project stalled, I promised the good people of Asuogyaman that if our government returned, I would see to its completion. Today, that promise is fulfilled”.
To ensure the brave officers can hit the ground running and effectively combat crime, the MP paid 2 years’ rent in advance for all police personnel stationed at the post and donated motorbikes for their patrol and rapid response activities.
The ceremony was graced by the Anum Omanhene, Nana Akusiaku Brempong Kume Sasraku VIII, Asikuma chief, Osahene Owusu Ntow, Assembly Member for Asikuma, regional police commander DCOP Joseph Owusu Bempah, the Divisional commander, Chief Superintendent Doris Grant, District Commander Superintendent David Kumah, and other senior officers.
Aside from the police station, the Deputy Finance Minister also commissioned a new 12-seater toilet facility to put an end to the problem of sanitation and toilets in the area once and for all.
Officials of Sanitopia, the company that constructed the toilet, were also there to officially hand over the project.
Together, “we are building a safer, healthier, and more secure Asuogyaman”, the MP said.
